What is Coaching?
Coaching is partnership, a relationship founded in mutual trust and confidentiality. You might imagine it as a journey, where you take the lead, as the expert in your work or life situation, and I walk alongside you, supporting you as you move forward on your chosen path.
As your coach, I create a safe space for you as you navigate the in-between in work, life, or both. Rather than trying to "fix" a client, my role is to to be at your side listening, observing, asking powerful questions, and facilitating unique ways for you to explore your situation through different lenses.
No matter the path we take each session, my role is to help deepen your awareness and support your growth, as you determine your next steps.
Is Coaching Right for You?
Coaching can be powerful, but it isn’t the right support for every moment.
This space is here to help you pause and notice what kind of support would best serve you right now.
There’s no right answer, just what’s true for you today.
Are you feeling a pull toward something new, even if you can’t fully name it yet?
Are you willing to take small steps between conversations, experimenting with what emerges?
Do you find yourself wanting a thinking partner, rather than advice or direction?
Are you ready to be both supported and gently challenged?
Do you have space in your life right now to engage in this kind of intentional work?
If you’re not sure, you don’t have to decide alone.
We can start with a conversation and simply notice what feels like the right kind of support for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy tends to explore the past to support healing. Coaching meets you in the present and invites you to shape what comes next. Coaching is forward-focused: a supportive, steady space where we explore what you want, what’s possible, and how to move toward it with courage and clarity.
How is coaching different from consulting?
Coaching and consulting are two different kinds of support. Consulting gives you solutions from the outside in. Coaching invites you inward, toward the quiet knowing already waiting beneath the noise. One delivers expertise; the other awakens your own. My work lives in that second space — slow, steady, grounded, and wholly yours.
How is coaching different from mentoring?
Coaching is a partnership that centers on your voice, insight, work, and unfolding direction. Mentoring brings the perspective of someone a few steps ahead in your field, sharing what they’ve learned along the way. Both can move you forward; coaching simply begins with who you are and where you want to go.
What is the investment?
The investment varies on whether your engagement is being supported by an employer or if you are self-paying. We will explore options during our first conversation.
For self-paying clients, I do not require a commitment to a set number of sessions (a coaching package). Rather, you and I will partner to set the schedule and cadence of sessions, but payment is made one session at a time. I do this to hold us both accountable to with frequent checkins to verify that the partnership is still of value and that progress is being made.
Note: It is my goal to not let cost be an impediment to coaching, so for self-paying clients I have a limited number of scholarship discounts available.
Curious About Next Steps?
-
We start with a conversation, either in person or via zoom. Our first talk isn't about contracts or commitments, it's about what it feels like being in space together, and whether what you are seeking and what I can offer are a good match.
-
If after a discussion we decide there is a good match, I will send a coaching agreement for you to review.
-
Coaching sessions can be in-person or virtual, or a mix of both. Geography need not be an obstacle. I also offer the option to have one (or more!) of your sessions onsite at a museum, such as the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Learn more HERE.
